The Erna Fergusson Library is located on the east side of San Mateo Blvd between Comanche Rd and Montgomery Blvd.
The nearest bus route is Route #140/141: San Mateo. The northbound bus stops right in front of the library. For the southbound bus, get off at Comanche and walk about a third of a mile to the library. Plan your trip here.
Freeway Directions from I-40:
Take I-40 to the San Mateo exit and proceed northbound. The Library is located one block north of the intersection of Comanche and San Mateo. Turn right on Palo Duro NE and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.

Take I-25 to the Montgomery exit. Proceed eastbound on Montgomery to San Mateo and turn right. Proceed southbound on San Mateo for a half-mile. The Library will be on your left before you get to Comanche. Turn left on Palo Duro NE and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.
Surface Street Directions Southbound:
Take southbound San Mateo. Look for the Library on your left a half-mile past the intersection of San Mateo and Montgomery Blvd NE. Turn left on to Palo Duro and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.

Take northbound San Mateo. Look for the Library on your right one block north of the stoplight at Comanche NE. Turn right on to Palo Duro and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.
Erna Fergusson has one meeting room that will hold a maximum of 45 people. Policy, rules and required forms for using the meeting room may be found at Meeting and Study Rooms as well as a list of meeting rooms at other branches.

Erna Fergusson has two study rooms. One will hold a maximum of 6 people and the other, a maximum of 12 people. The study rooms may be reserved (call 888-8100) up to one week in advance for no more than two hours per person/group a day. Check in at the Information Desk with your library card to gain access to the study room.

Early Literacy Station
We are a Fiction to Go location! What is Fiction to Go? The Friends for the Public Library sells slightly used, recently published fiction titles for $2 for hardbacks and $1 for paperbacks. Like all funds that our Friends receive, all proceeds from Fiction to Go sales benefit the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Libraries!
Baby and Toddler Storytime families
Enjoy an interactive storytime with your child that includes early literacy fun with books, songs, fingerplays and body movement. Weekly Baby and Toddler Storytime is targeted for ages 0 - 3.
Book Club adults
The Erna Fergusson Book Club meets for book discussion monthly. View the events calendar to see what book we'll be discussing at each meeting.
Computer Classes adults
All classes are one-on-one in order to provide personalized assistance. Topics include basic computer skills, email accounts, internet searching, resume building, advanced computers, and using your e-reader or tablet PC. Reservations are required and can be made in person or by phone. Reservations can only be made two weeks in advance of the class date. Classes are Tuesdays at 5:30 or 6:30 pm or Wednesdays at 9 or 10 am. Please bring your valid library card to class. See more information about computer classes.
Family Storytime families
Family Storytime is a weekly program for children of all ages, featuring books, puppets, music, movement, science activities, movies and/or crafts to encourage early literacy skills.
First Friday Craft ages 9 - 18
Join us for crafting the first Friday of every month. There will be a new craft every month to make and take home.
Lego Club all ages
We meet monthly. All LEGOs are provided for use at the library.
Music & Movement Storytime families
These storytimes are a fun way to develop early literacy skills in young children with music, dancing, singing, stories and exploration of simple musical concepts. Music & Movement Storytime is appropriate for ages 0 - 6.
Preschool Storytime families
Join in the fun with stories, songs, puppets and more that encourage development of early literacy skills in young children, using the guidelines from the Every Child Ready to Read program. Weekly Preschool Storytime targeted for ages 3 - 5.
Bedtime Storytime families
This program is offered monthly from June to August . Enjoy stories, music, and activities that encourage early literacy skills in young children. Intended for ages 2 - 6.
Master Gardeners all ages
The Albuquerque Area Extension Master Gardeners will visit the library twice a month during the growing season to answer your questions about gardening in Albuquerque. The Master Gardener hotline is available every day from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm: 292-7144 or 243-1386.
