The Juan Tabo Library will close for renovations starting Tuesday, September 1. It is expected to reopen mid-October. Apologies for the inconvenience!
Included in this renovation will be:
  • The addition of a beautiful Community Room, for programs and neighborhood meetings!
  • A completely new parking lot surface!
  • New air conditioning and heating!
  • New public bathrooms!
Thanks to District 8 Councilor Trudy Jones for securing the funding for this project!

While the Juan Tabo Branch is closed, customer holds will be sent to the Lomas Tramway Branch. If this location is not convenient for you, please contact our Customer Services Office at 768-5170 to arrange another branch location for your holds pick-up.

The Juan Tabo Library is located on Juan Tabo Blvd, halfway between Candelaria Road and Comanche Road, on the west side of the street. Note the building is set back off the street.

Freeway Directions:
Take I-40 to Juan Tabo and proceed northbound past Candelaria.

Surface Street Directions heading North on Juan Tabo, past Candelaria:
Make a left turn at the next left turn bay after passing Defined Fitness, the Yamaha dealership, and the Boehmer dental office.  Don't turn in at the dental office; you'll be driving on the wrong side of the street.

Surface Street Directions heading South on Juan Tabo, past Comanche:
Make the first right hand turn after passing the Sandia Plaza Condominiums and a flood control arroyo.

Fiction To Go  What is Fiction to Go? The Friends for the Public Library sells slightly used, recently published fiction titles for $2 for hardbacks and $1 for paperbacks. Like all funds that our Friends receive, all proceeds from Fiction to Go sales benefit the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Libraries!

Roadrunner Food Bank  Juan Tabo Library is a Roadrunner Food Bank donation location. Donate non-perishable food items in the bin in our entryway. You can also donate at Erna Fergusson, Taylor Ranch, and North Valley libraries.

Music & Movement Storytime    families
These storytimes are a fun way to develop early literacy skills in young children with music, dancing, singing, stories and exploration of simple musical concepts. Music & Movement Storytime is appropriate for ages 0 - 6.

Every Child Ready to Read Preschool Storytime    families
Join in the fun with stories, songs, puppets and more that encourage development of early literacy skills in young children, using the guidelines from the Every Child Ready to Read program. Weekly Preschool Storytime targeted for ages 3 - 5.

Reading the Southwest Bookgroup    adults

The Albuquerque Area Extension Master Gardeners will visit the library twice a month during the growing season to answer your questions about gardening in Albuquerque.  The Master Gardener hotline is available every day from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm: 292-7144 or 243-1386.
