A sample ballot is available online through My Voter Information - a service of the Bernalillo County Clerk's My Vote Center website.  To access the ballot, you'll be asked to enter your first and last names -- plus your date of birth.  Each point of information is required for access.

Bernalillo County Voter Registration FAQ

In person registration is available at the Bernalillo County Clerk's Office, or at the Secretary of State's Office.

You can call, email or send a letter to the County Clerk's Office requesting a registration form

  • E-mail clerk@bernco.gov and provide name and address so that the form can be mailed to you.

  • Send a letter to: Bernalillo County Clerk's Office, Bureau of Elections, One Civic Plaza, NW, 6th Floor, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102.   These forms are available at the County Clerk’s Office or at the Secretary of State’s Office.

Voter registration forms are available at Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Libraries.  You can also begin the registration process at some colleges and universities, when applying for certain public assistance or services, and when applying for a driver's license.

Updating your voter registration can be done in person at the Bernalillo County Clerk's Office, or the Secretary of State's Office.  Other options include updates by phone, email or letter.

Early voting will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, commencing Saturday, October 20, 2012 to Saturday, November 3, 2012 in the Office of the County Clerk, 620 Lomas NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102. Additional early voting is available at the following sites:

Absentee voting begins October 9, 2012.  The last day for receipt of applications -- and for mail out of absentee ballots -- is November 2, 2012.  Absentee ballot applications may be requested by:

  • Calling the Bernalillo County Clerk's Office at 243-VOTE (8683)
  • Emailing your request to absentee@bernco.gov
  • Appearing in person at the County Clerk's Office 

Absentee In-Person voting begins October 9, 2012 and ends November 3, 2012 at the County Clerk's Annex -- located at 620 Lomas NW.  Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 8:00 pm.

Last Day to register to vote or make changes to voter registrations is October 9, 2012, by 5:00 pm.

My Voter Information is part of My Vote Center - a new system initiated by the Bernalillo County Clerk's Office enabling voters to cast their votes at any "vote center" on election day -- and not be tied to a particular precinct.  Voters will also have expandd access to their voting information (districts in which they are eligible to vote), plus mapping and location data.

City Clerk's Office - Election Information - The City Clerk is responsible for conducting fair and impartial municipal elections.

Elections specific to the City of Albuquerque of Albuquerque are held every 2 years (in odd numbered years).  The next City election will be held in October 2013. 

City ballots include elected municipal officials - plus any bonds, propositions or questions going up for a vote.

Secretary of State's Office - The Secretary of State oversees the entire election process, which includes maintaining a computerized listing of the state's registered voters, testing and evaluating voting machines, and certifying precinct boundary maps
